    Changing BSSID?

My ISP is ATT and my IP has not changed since I had fiber installed many years ago. As I stated, if you look up my IP address on various websites, they all show the location as being correct (in San Diego).

    Changing BSSID?

I noticed it when I would search for something, it would give me results local to Las Vegas. If I go to Google Maps, it shows I'm in Las Vegas. There are various other websites that get your location and they all show Las Vegas. I use a VPN client for work, but that's on a separate machine...

    Changing BSSID?

I'm not even sure if my title is correct. I have had my same router (RT-AC88U) for years, and I have not moved for 12 years. All of a sudden, in the last week, devices that are connected to wi-fi in my house think I'm in Las Vegas (I am in San Diego). In Firefox and Edge, if I'm connected to...

    openvpn-event trigger

I have created this script and added logging. I can see that the script only seems to be triggered when the VPN server starts or stops. However, according to the documentation I saw, I thought it should trigger when a user connects or disconnects as well. Is this not the case?

Firewall rule to block firmware updates

Apparently the device checks a ping to google to detect if it has "internet"

Firewall rule to block firmware updates

I have a SunPower Solar Monitoring system. SunPower went bankrupt and a new company took over and has been sending firmware updates that are slowly putting more and more things that used to be free, behind a paywall. This devices can access the internet via 3 methods, hardwired internet...

    Moving DHCP to Pi-Hole

Oh that is good to know for the future, but for now I do not have AiMesh.

    Moving DHCP to Pi-Hole

I'm already using Pi-Hole in a docker image on my NAS for DNS and it's working beautifully thanks to some posts I've seen here. Right now I have the following settings so that I can basically force all of my local devices to use Pi-Hole for DNS, even if they're configured with hard coded DNS...

    Basic AiMesh questions

Currently I have one AC88U providing wireless for my house. I have 2 very cheap TP-Link routers that I also use, one connected wirelessly to provide a hardwired connection for a security camera, and the other one wired acting as an AP. I'm thinking of adding one or 2 mesh clients, but I'm...

    hosts.add

Ok I figured out my problem. I was typing the wrong command to restart the service, but didn't know it because apparently even typing service alskfjalksfj_flakjsflkjaf echo's done to the terminal, which made me think I typed it right. Thanks Dave!

    hosts.add

Whoops, yeah, that's where the file is, I just typed it out wrong. As I said, rebooting the router let it work.

    hosts.add

Hello, I am trying to add a few entries to the hosts file so that they can be used by my entire network. I tried adding it to /jffs/config/hosts.add and restarting dnsmasq, but it did not seem to take effect. I verified by checking and my entry wasn't added to /etc / hosts. Rebooting the...

    Issues with Home Assistant

I just migrated from an AC68 to an AC88. Previously I had home assistant running without any issues at all. I had 2 cell phones on my network that were monitored using nmap from the home assistant to tell if my wife and I were home. Both phones are setup with static DHCP. After switching...

    Router upgrade?

Yeah I thought it was very strange as well. I did factory reset my router and was ready to call it broke when I stumbled across the static DHCP idea. Like I said, it's been rock solid ever since

    Router upgrade?

Thank you so much, I will definitely look into this!
