    Basic AiMesh questions

Currently I have one AC88U providing wireless for my house. I have 2 very cheap TP-Link routers that I also use, one connected wirelessly to provide a hardwired connection for a security camera, and the other one wired acting as an AP. I'm thinking of adding one or 2 mesh clients, but I'm...

    hosts.add

Ok I figured out my problem. I was typing the wrong command to restart the service, but didn't know it because apparently even typing service alskfjalksfj_flakjsflkjaf echo's done to the terminal, which made me think I typed it right. Thanks Dave!

    hosts.add

Whoops, yeah, that's where the file is, I just typed it out wrong. As I said, rebooting the router let it work.

    hosts.add

Hello, I am trying to add a few entries to the hosts file so that they can be used by my entire network. I tried adding it to /jffs/config/hosts.add and restarting dnsmasq, but it did not seem to take effect. I verified by checking and my entry wasn't added to /etc / hosts. Rebooting the...

    Issues with Home Assistant

I just migrated from an AC68 to an AC88. Previously I had home assistant running without any issues at all. I had 2 cell phones on my network that were monitored using nmap from the home assistant to tell if my wife and I were home. Both phones are setup with static DHCP. After switching...

    Router upgrade?

Yeah I thought it was very strange as well. I did factory reset my router and was ready to call it broke when I stumbled across the static DHCP idea. Like I said, it's been rock solid ever since

    Router upgrade?

Thank you so much, I will definitely look into this!

    Router upgrade?

That is what I used to do but when I hit about 40 devices on my network, the network would slow to a crawl and eventually just quit working. A reboot would fix it, and then within a few hours, v it would repeat. I don't remember where, but someone suggested going static DHCP. This instantly...

    Router upgrade?

Just a lot of devices! Computers, phones, TV's, tablets, security cameras, smart devices... It adds up!

    Router upgrade?

I know this past isn't technically Merlin related but hoping you all can help me out. I currently have an ac68. At any given time I have about 70 devices connected to my router. Almost all of them are using static DHCP. I am finding that as I add new devices, I am getting errors because I'm...

    DHCP overload??

It doesn't really explain why wired was perfectly fine during that time. Some are 720p and others are 1080p running at 15fps. Also, it's not too much data. Only about 2-3MB/sec of data (total for 7 cameras) over wired connections. In addition, if it was really data saturation, it doesn't...

    DHCP overload??

I was having a very weird problem which has been resolved (I think), but I'm not sure if the changes I made are what caused the problem to be fixed. I have an N66 with a lot of devices connected. Anywhere between 20-40 devices. The devices include wireless/wired and are composed of everything...
