AC88U Problem with ports 5 through 8 losing connection after a while

I'm currently running Merlin firmware 380.63_2 The two LAN switches in the AC88U are working perfectly with this firmware In 2018 and 2019 i tried the following firmwares from Merlin RT-AC88U_380.69_2.zip RT-AC88U_384.6_0.zip RT-AC88U_384.7_2.zip RT-AC88U_384.8_2.zip RT-AC88U_384.9_0.zip...

    AC88U problems with internal switch

The AC88U has 2 switches (4 ports per switch). In recent firmwares i have the issue that the second switch controlling port 5-8 does not get ip addresses after the router has been running for a couple hours to a day. Rebooting the router makes it work again until a couple hours to a day later...

    Traffic analyzer graph scaling

Well recently this has gotten worse These days i'm running on a 400/40 mbits internet connection. The problem is that somewhere between 380.63_2 and 384.6_0 the local lan traffic also got measured in the graphs. This bumps the graphs from the previous ~50 MB/s range to 119 MB/s Which makes the...

    No routing protocol?

Yes we had static ips anyways since we needed to host a website on premises

    No routing protocol?

I'm not sure our situations are the same but for the company i work at we use a Watchguard firewall with a business fiber connection (modem and router provided by the provider) We were required to use static ips (including gateway, dns server) to configure the Firewalls interfaces. Maybe its as...

    Traffic analyzer graph scaling

I'm talking about: Traffic Manager -> Traffic Monitor One thing that has always annoyed me is that 99% of my traffic is wired traffic which effectively makes the wireless graphs useless for Real-Time and Last 24 Hours as the lines are flat This is on a 300/30 mbits internet connection Is it...

Traffic Analyzer wireless 5ghz reception stays zero

    In the Traffic analyzer - Traffic monitor Firmware: 380.63_2 Router: RT-AC88U The numbers for the Wireless 5ghz tab stay zero for the reception. Everything else seems to work properly. Current - Average - Maximum - Total 0.00 KB/s - 0.00 KB/s - 0.00 - KB/s 0 0.58 KB/s - 0.60 KB/s - 33.48 KB/s...

    380.57 Possible port forwarding issue

Well after getting a AC88U and AC87U side by side for testing i found that my issue is very likely connected to "Enable DoS protection" being turned on. So something changed between the 378 and 380 branch firmwares. Currently i've only been able to reproduce this on the AC87U, not the AC88U...

kernel: br0: received packet on eth1 with own address as source address

Just wanted to add my 2 cents to this topic I know this thread is pretty old but since this is new intel (to my knowledge) i found it better then starting a new thread Got this error yesterday and it started spamming my system log. Since i use a remote log server this was spammed as well and...

    380.57 Possible port forwarding issue

To my knowledge it has not been fixed yet I suggest everyone having this issue to create a ticket with Asus. I've already done that

    380.57 Possible port forwarding issue

This is an issue that pertains to firmware versions 380.57 and higher. Since that version came out around december 2015 your issue could only possibly be related if you've had it for ~5 months. You're saying you've had it for years so its more likely its an unrelated issue i'm afraid My advise...

    380.57 Possible port forwarding issue

Well it's red for the 3341 (AC88U) but not for the 3264 (AC87U)

    380.57 Possible port forwarding issue

BTW Asus should put a BIG fracking warning sign in red and clearly visible on the 380_3264 firmware. Something like "Currently cannot migrate to thirdparty firmwares" I'm back on 378.56_2 but it was not a really nice way i want to repeat future downgrades...

    380.57 Possible port forwarding issue

Just tested 380.59.... same issue. It's not that port forwarding does not work, it's that it at random refuses certain port forwarded connections. Where normally the router would forward all the connections that come in on port forwarded ports, it now only forwards about 60-80 % of the...

    380.57 Possible port forwarding issue

The port forwarding issue is only present in the 380.57 firmware Your issue sounds to me like its the loopback issue which can be fixed by logging into your router and going to firewall. Here you will see "NAT Loopback". Try every option until you find one that works for you
