24GHz channel stops as some point every day

Ian Campbell

New Around Here
I schedule a reboot at midnight each night(AC3200) and that has helped for a while but now the only way for 24GHz channel to start again is to pull the plug on the router, wait a minute and then plug it in again. I am one version behind in firmware....sorry not an early adopter.

Is it time to buy another? the current router is about 18 months old.
Can you suggest a model or two? I need something with a large range, I have a single story house so it is spread out. I stream TV & music.

thanks

Looking at the subject title, did you try different channel? What is the reason you reboot so frequently?

What specifically does 'one version behind in firmware' mean?

Flash the latest firmware (it has been proved stable by now; no new ones have been released for awhile), do a full reset to factory defaults and then minimally and manually configure the router to secure it and connect to your ISP. Do not set a nightly reboot on it and see how it behaves. If the issues continue then, a discussion of a new router is in order. Right now, there are many things that may be fixable with the equipment you now have.

The other two channels work fine. I re-boot to kick my son off the internet. He seems to have figured out a way to defeat the time scheduling (i change the router pw frequently & take my laptop with me so he is not getting it that way), so i just do the reboot to kick everyone/ everything off.
