ASUS RT-AC3200 - PPPoE internet connection (User/Pass variety)
Question #1: If I disable UPnP... The WAN connection is lost. Is UPnP somehow required for PPPoE? Or, is it that my provider hardware (modem?) requires it? Like most "users", I never really considered it a problem until I recently became a (somewhat) more security conscious user.
Issue #1: When we wake up in the morning, the internet will not connect. PPPoE is set to "always on". And, we are using an Open VPN setup. After several minutes of futzing with it, the only way to restore service is to reboot. After which, all is well, until the next morning.
I suspect that, after several hours of inactivity, the VPN connection is dropped. (not good IMO) But, I don't understand why it will not re-establish a connection when triggered by activity. Is there a kill-switch setting that I am not seeing?
