Where i live i can pick up the RT-AC86U for 100$ New.
The issue is that it comes locked to 62 channels because the place i live in.
Any idea if Asus Merlin firmware can unlock the locked channels?
 
No, Merlin cannot alter the wifi channels, nor can any other firmware. Regional channel settings are there for a reason and it is illegal to change them.
