..... the only change specific to the RT-AC87U seem to be a fix related to WPS not getting properly disabled on the 5 GHz band.

Amazing! Finally fixed, I have only reported the bug almost a couple of years ago

Thanks. Hopefully Asus is trying or will do best effort working with Quantenna to make AC87U better as it was a flagship product being first 11ac wave 2 router based on QSR1000, the industry's first 802.11ac “wave 2” solution.

Today I received an Asus Router Security Update email informing the release of the 4180 firmware.. a bit late but good to see it

The new firmware availability notification along with the release notes in the UI is cool.
