Asus AiMesh ethernet backhaul lan aggregation

Hello!

I have an ASUS RT-AX88U and an ASUS RT-AC5300 router. Both of them support the link aggregation, and both of them are supported by AsusWRT Merlin.

I'd like to make an Aimesh system, where AX88U is the primary router and AC5300 is the node. There is a lot of wall between the two routers, so for this reason, I only want to connect the two routers in a wired way (Ethernet only backhaul).

My question is, it is possible to use the Link aggregation to make 2Gbps bandwidth between the routers instead of 1Gbps?

No. You can use WAN port only for wired backhaul.

Can anyone provide more info on this? For example, why wouldn't you be able to use LAN LA on a gt-ax6000 (router) to WAN LA on a rt-ax86s satellite in aimesh?

You have no access to node settings. How you are going to configure the link aggregation there?
