So I was able to snag a GT-5300 from Best Buy in December for $220.00 and it has been rock solid to this point. I have not messed with settings much and just made sure firmware was kept up to date. Our ISP had an outage earlier this week and I lost both wifi channels after the service came back up. I still had the normal wired connection with no issues, just lost all wifi radio channels. I figured a reboot was all that was needed and still no dice, same results. After rebooting a few times back and forth I decided to back up the system settings and try a hard reset which led to the same results with wifi radios not being available.
I decided to take it back to Best Buy since I have a two-year protection plan but they tell me the unit is no longer available so all I can do is take a store credit of $220.00 towards another router. I hate doing this because the GT-5300 has been great and I got it on a steal but it looks like unless I can get it working again, I'm going to have to replace it with a lower version. I had a Netgear Nighthawk X6 3200 before that was solid until it just started dropping 5G channels two years later. Thankfully I was able to swap it out for the GT-5300 right before my protection period ended.
Anyone else experience this or any ideas on what might have happened or how to resolve?
Thanks!
