Asus ROG Rapture GT-5300 dead wifi

So I was able to snag a GT-5300 from Best Buy in December for $220.00 and it has been rock solid to this point. I have not messed with settings much and just made sure firmware was kept up to date. Our ISP had an outage earlier this week and I lost both wifi channels after the service came back up. I still had the normal wired connection with no issues, just lost all wifi radio channels. I figured a reboot was all that was needed and still no dice, same results. After rebooting a few times back and forth I decided to back up the system settings and try a hard reset which led to the same results with wifi radios not being available.

I decided to take it back to Best Buy since I have a two-year protection plan but they tell me the unit is no longer available so all I can do is take a store credit of $220.00 towards another router. I hate doing this because the GT-5300 has been great and I got it on a steal but it looks like unless I can get it working again, I'm going to have to replace it with a lower version. I had a Netgear Nighthawk X6 3200 before that was solid until it just started dropping 5G channels two years later. Thankfully I was able to swap it out for the GT-5300 right before my protection period ended.

Anyone else experience this or any ideas on what might have happened or how to resolve?

Thanks!

Are the WiFi LEDs OFF? Try jiggling the WiFi ON/OFF switch?

Yes, the WIFI lights are off and neither WIFI (2G/5G) radio will broadcast. I originally checked the WIFI ON/OFF switch thinking that had been pressed somehow but that was not it.

I just spend the last hour on the phone with Asus support and they are going to send me a replacement unit, but it will be refurbished. Wondering if I'm not just better off to take it back to Best Buy and swap it out with the Asus AC-3100 since that one is able to use the Merlin firmware.

Thanks
