Where did I miss key rotation setting in the past here?! What is the default, and why 3600?

Initially people reported a bug that dropped certain types of WiFi clients every hour on the hour. That's 3600 seconds, the default setting. The workaround was to set it to 0, thus turning off that feature, trading off security for reliability. The default seems to work fine in recent firmware releases.

Didn't have a disconnect so far, but has been on only for a couple of hours.
Smart connect is disabled and key rotation is at the default 3600.

So far it is running very good and stable. All wired and wireless clients seem to like this router much better than the RT-AC87 it replaced. Not a single wireless drop.

you would have seen the drop in the first hour if there were still a key rotation bug , have not had that problem for long time , it was fixed many FW builds ago . AC3200 is super stable these days

There's an update available dated june 1.

Select Win 8/8.1 for it to show. http://www.asus.com/Networking/RTAC3200/HelpDesk_Download/

This has thus far made small rule perform much better and balanced between the two 5ghz bands.

Yet my router has experienced crash (refused to connect the web console) two times in the last few days. Appeared to be related to large data traffic volume. Once I was watching netflix, and this morning just now while I'm uploading music to google play.

While the improvement of smart rule is lovely, I can't bear the crash anymore but to restore to last firmware Version 3.0.0.4.380.3479. Albeit I do have large number of device online, from wifi cam to amazon alexa over 50 devices. I just have to set the router to reboot once a day with the previous firmware, but it never crashes.

I applied firmware yesterday and notifced it my internet would drop off after an hour or so. A soft reset would not work. Today, got home same thing. can't connect to discord or get to live.com. However, I could get to google (not using google dns). I proceed to unplug the router and turn off the power switch then plugged it back in. Wait 10 sec then turn on the power switch in the back. Been running for 4 hours no problem. Will report back if the internet drops off. Another thing that happened yesterday, the external IP had changed but I'm not sure if this had anything to do with my problem.

Also what is the entry source target for. Is this for the source IP address?

If you want to setup a port forward that only works for traffic coming from a specific IP address.
