ASUS RT-AC68U Issues

I recently bought a new ASUS RT-AC68U and am having trouble watching NHL Gamecenter through Xbox one live application, It won't allow me to log in (I am able to watch videos that don't require me to log in). I switched back to my old Apple Airport extreme from 2009 and it works no problem. So I've narrowed it down that it's not the NHL Gamecenter/Xbox live (xbox one) service rather something different between the ASUS RT-AC68U and my Apple Airport Extreme. Anyone have recommendations on a possible setting that may be causing this? My NAT type is listed as 'OPEN' in the Xbox one settings, it's almost as I am not able to log in to the NHL servers with my ASUS RT-AC68U. any help would be appreciated.

I am trying to do this all using wireless.

Under the 2.4 and 5 ghz there's a checkbox for Optimize for Xbox. See if that helps

Optimize for Xbox only affects Xbox 360 Slims from what I recall. Has no impact with Xbox One
