Asus RT-AC88U 3G/4G Cell USB Dongle

Hi,
First time here. I've been scouring all morning long looking for some decent info/feedback on a decent 3G/4G dongle that will work with the AC88U.
I found the support link from ASUS but I've read mixed reviews. Does anyone have any experience they can share?

Also does the Merlin firmware support USB Cellular dongles?
