Asus RT-N66U and VPN

Can this router act as a VPN client and route other systems via wi/Fi or hardwire to your VPN provider? In particular does it support L2TP, PPTP, OpenVPN from the router ( I am not talking about passing a VPN session from a computer running VPN software. For example, could this router connect to a VPN service and allow media players to use it ( Roku, ATV, etc ... ). I can do this with a Linksys EA1200 v2 running DD-WRT, but the router is somewhat underpowered.

Note that the question refers to the stock firmware from Asus and not the excellent Merlin variation which obviously does this.

Would the Asus Rt-Ac56u also have the same capabilities with respect to VPN client use?

Yes, it has built-in VPN clients...
I highly sugest the built-in OpenVPN client.
I use it with privateinternetaccess which costs me 40$ a year.
Now "ALL" my connected devices (wired and wireless) inside my house are not only secured, but also get routed through USA servers so I now get USA Netflix, Pandora, etc.

I finally got the RT-AC56U. Very nice but the built in OpenVPN client does not seem as compatible as the dd-wrt one that I had with the Linksys. Are you using Merlin's firmware?
