Release ASUS TUF-AX6000 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_33965 (2025/10/23)

Sure, check the IPV6 section in Advanced settings. Make sure it is disabled.

Exactly as you can see in the picture, I have this feature turned off. It was turned off before the update and it's still turned off. As soon as I connect with the VPN turned off, I have a dial-up connection. I turn on the VPN on the laptop and everything is OK. Anyway, when Asus responds, I'll post it here right away.

So I finally got a call from Asus support. I feel like they read the forum pages to see what the latest stable firmware is. Their solution? They sent me a link to firmware 3.0.0.4.388_33427-gc525e4e and told me to try it and if I have any problems, to send them feedback. So I don't know if they're kidding me or if they think I'm a complete idiot.

Took me 10 seconds to check ASUS Support page, @tiomiguel. Beta firmware always starts with 9.0.0.x (3.0.0.x is a regular release) and the version number is smaller than the firmware you discuss in this thread. 🤷‍♂️

Sorry everyone, I previously pointed out that the lag issue was caused by IPv6, but after using it for a while, I realized that it’s not just an IPv6 problem. Even after switching this router to AP mode, the lagging issue still persists. This ASUS product is truly terrible.

No,is a buggy firmware Asus never acknowledged that is faulty.
I'm using the router at the moment with a very early firmware. (3.0.0.4.388_31374-g617d05c) Is rock steady running without issue for a month.
Still have that log entry:
( kernel: 7986@C12L1rax0,Peer_Vendor_Spec_Action() 806: Peer_Vendor_Spec_Action:frame len check error).
I have enabled only the Samba using a hard drive as lan storage.
Nothing else no ai protection, nothing just Samba but is fast and no glitches over wifi
And yes IPv6 is working as it should with native/ppp/stateless settings 👌.
Yes is got some interface glitches like not showing the up/down speed of wireless devices but is stable and most important is fast, opening all pages without errors and so on.
I have already disabled automatic updates for the firmware and I'm sticking with it.
To me important things are stability and Samba to work properly.
And this firmware is delivering that.
Have tryout the openwrt latest and they are comparable on speed.
But the big issue for me was to configure Samba in such a way that can work flawless with Mac,Windows and Android.
I have give up trying because of the Mac issues connecting on OpenWRT Samba.

Hi, I've been in contact with Asus support for about two months now and support tells me there's no problem. They supposedly tested the router in the lab and found no problems, so they're just telling me what settings to try and then send the logs. Since they found no problems, there's no plan to fix it. Has anyone tried installing OpenWrt and how difficult it is to set up a home network on it, I only have basic networking knowledge.

Have tryout OpenWRT on it.
Menu of the interface is kind of confusing.
There is a curve learning but with the help of Google managed to set it the way I want.
My only complaint was about the Samba.
Cannot make it work properly on all devices specially Mac.
If you can live without or îs not an issue for you go ahead give it a try.
On the positive side is that you can manually adjust the transmission power of the wi-fi .
Wich can be up by 20% compared with the original Asus firmware.
And stability wise is rock solid 👌.
Worth the effort.

So if only using this router as an AP, is the current firmware stable or should I switch to OpenWRT? Thanks!

Got no advice for that.
Never used as an AP on OpenWRT or Asus firmware.
As regarding slow and unresponsive pages looks like happens only on wi-fi.
I'm using it as wi-fi only lan connections.
