Asus ZenWiFi Pro ET12 blocking/dropping wan connections to local game server.

Dolyfin

New Around Here
This issue has been annoying me since getting 2 individual ET12 units replacing 2 XT8 units which worked perfectly fine under the same use case.

I have a local windows server with web panels and game servers (Minecraft in this case). WAN connections to opened ports to my local server seems to get randomly blocked or dropped.

Example of issues:
- Players in the Minecraft server could play fine for hours. Then randomly get all kicked.
- Players on the server could be playing on the server, then someone else from the same WAN IP joins and the original player from that IP gets kicked and new player never join.
- Sometimes they could be unable to join for a few minutes then be able to rejoin.
- Sometimes they could be kicked within a few minutes after that rejoin, or be ok for hours.
- LAN players (me) unaffected

General experience using the router has been no problem. No game or website disconnect issues other than my locally hosted server.

Things I have troubleshooted on/off with no permanent solution:
1. Firewall on/off including DDOS protection on/off
2. Factory reset and after update.
3. 3.0.0.4.386_48826-g313b058 original version I tested and updated to 3.0.0.6.102_36637-g06d84a2_468-gaa7ac manually.
4. Ai Protection on/off
5. UPnP off.
6. QoS on/off
7. Minecraft server is running 30XXX or 2556X
8. Asuscomm.com DDNS or direct IP.
9. Logs. They are quite barren.

Also on the server existing but unused/inactive during the week I've owned and tried to debug these are:
Plex, qBitorrent + *rr suite, VPN tunnel for qBitorrent only, CubeCoders AMP

Restarts seems to temporarily reset any blocking issues.

I'm out of my depths here in debugging before resorting to returning at least one of these routers. Tried bebugging with Chatgpt/Claude which has been inconsistent at best and about expected before my account was verified to post.

If someone knows a bit more could clue me in where else to look or to just give up with this as my main router.
