Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.4 is now available

1. its still there... On Network Map - Client status - click the device (any).
Yes and no. The option to block internet access will be there for main LAN clients.
The option will not be there for Guest Network Pro clients, particularly those that have the Guest Network Pro option Use same subnet as main network set to disabled. In the following screen captures 192.168.2.x is the main LAN, and 192.168.52.x is a Guest Network Pro SDN.
Main Lan Client:

Guest Network Pro Client:

The issue of being unable to block Guest Network Pro client's internet access has been brought up before in other discussions. As mentioned in the Beta thread, it is possible to block a Guest Network Pro client's internet access by using the Parental Controls > Time Scheduling option. See the following post which has screen captures indicating Guest Network Pro client had their internet blocked.

The screenshot I showed was for my own phone, connected to the main wifi on my own RT-BE88U. Same IP subnet as my LAN. ie not guest network pro
Without running a RT-BE88U you can't say what we should be seeing.
*edit* in fact the option is not available on my router for any network

I take that back, apologise, and declare that it does work for LAN devices. I would have expected it to work for the main wifi though.

Merlin,

Does this build include all fixes from build 37839 for the BE-98PRO?
If yes can you also confirm the wireless driver is not from this build and a previous build?

Thanks
CC

Your screen capture indicates "SDN Ripshod_NET". It is possible because it is a SDN that is the reason it doesn't have the options the main LAN clients, LAN/WiFi, have. If you look at my Guest Network Pro screen capture it also indicates SDN and doesn't have the options the WiFi client on the main LAN has.

Agreed. Yet this is the main wifi network set up in QIS after reset. Why it says SDN idk 😕
Perhaps all wifi networks are SDNs on my router as they're all on the SDN.asp page.

for the folks that just got the latest, was there any addon you removed before/after upgrade?

Wifi7 devices are based off GPL 37346 from December. 37839 was released 3 days ago. I would guess the answer is, “It depends.”

I'd personally recommend a factory reset going from 3004 to 3006 firmwares, though others have done without it.
YazFi is dead.
See the script versions in my signature for SkyNet and Diversion.
OpenVPN? That's a built in function of the firmware surely.
Can't speak for VPN Routing.

I use OpenVPN clients and server on this firmware also with VPN Director. I notice no issues. It's behaving like before. I don't use it for guest networks so I don't know about that.

Thanks @ExtremeFiretop for the provided code. I have run it but will reboot the router later tonight (the boss 👩‍🦰 will not very happy since everything is on the router's wifi here).

Reboot done late yesterday evening. The only odd behavior observed so far is the fact that as-soon-as select for the third times one of the main options, I can no longer see and select the available sub-options that are usually displayed:
3006 menu 01.jpg
3006 menu 02.jpg
3006 menu 03.jpg

Everything else seen fine.

That’s an scMerlin feature/problem. It’s not part of the firmware.
That's what I was suspecting as I was fully aware that feature was provided by one of the addons but could not remember which one precisely it was ...

Therefore, it is to thelonelycoder or Martinski to investigate this issue I guest.

Hello,
I'd like to report that the latest firmware version (RT-BE88U_3006_102.4_0) still appears to lack some granular control features in the WEBUI's Client Status section. Specifically, there seems to be:
  1. Absence of a dedicated toggle for disabling mobile devices
  2. Missing bandwidth limitation controls for individual devices (though I'm uncertain if this feature existed in previous firmware iterations)
This observation aligns with similar reports I've encountered in the community forum:
https://www.snbforums.com/threads/b...fi-clients-on-rt-ax88u-pro.93831/#post-948139
Could you kindly advise if there are planned enhancements to address these control granularity issues in future updates?
This is beyond the scope of this project.

Went ahead and updated my AX6000. Up and running without issue. But wait, I still have the flashing update available on the main page. Click it and it take me to firmware update page where it says that both my AX6000 and my AX3000 are up to date. Did browser refresh and even rebooted the AX6000. No luck. Reboot desktop and still have the flashing update icon. Any ideas here for me to try or did I find a possible bug.

Release timing perfect for me for a fresh install on a new GT-AX6000. Installed head revision Asuswrt 3.0.0.6_102_34825 then installed Asuswrt-Merlin 3006_102.4_0. I much prefer the cool Asuwrt-Merlin webui to the pointlessly over-stimulating ROG interface - that's an immediate improvement from my perspective. The guest network VLANs seem improved over the old 386 firmware. I have four set up, though it will take a few days to see if those are all good. Everything in the configuration process worked correctly and as expected (as far as I can tell). Unsupported RT-AC66U_B1 now retired.

Thanks @RMerlin and all those who contributed to the release

Just wondering if anyone has restored a backed up VPN server settings configuration file from the old firmware to the new firmware in this thread after a factory reset? Did it restore it without any issues? Just trying to gauge the amount of work I need to do after the reset once on the new firmware. Thanks.

Yes VPN configuration remain and no issue after BE92u router reset and restore backup configuration. I am using VPN iPSec.

Just installed this and working good.

Thanks Merlin!

Zero issues with addins all seem well there also.
