Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.5 Beta is now available

I see the BE wireless drivers were updated after being left out of the recent release. Just curious if the drivers for the WiFi 6 models are the same ones used from Mar 10, 2025?
No newer - Jun 10 2025 16:24:01 version 17.10.188.6401 (r808804)

Dirty upgrades from .104 to .105alpha1 to .105.alpha2 to 105.beta1.

All IOT devices reconnected and up, guestnet and vlan up and running, whireguard server working properly. Familiy happy (most valuable)!!!

Just ONE hiccup as in alpha1 and alpha2:

"Jul 6 12:22:03 kernel: Oops: HOOK_PROLOG() is not used properly !?"

QoS NOT enabled...

How about any Trend Micro features like AiProtection or Traffic Analyzer? This message comes from their modules.
Thanks for your answer!
Since I rejected all Trend Micro things, I hope that no Trend Micro service is running.

I see the BE wireless drivers were updated after being left out of the recent release.

As was already said, the date does not mean a newer driver.

Like for BE86U driver:

Broadcom BCA: 17.10 RC369.39012
wl0: Apr 28 2025 16:39:37 version 17.10.369.39012 (r839077) BSPv1W13

Broadcom BCA: 17.10 RC369.39012
wl0: Jun 28 2025 13:39:37 version 17.10.369.39012 (r839077) BSPv1W13

Those are the same driver even though the date has changed.

Example of a change:

Broadcom BCA: 17.10 RC369.39012
wl0: Apr 28 2025 16:39:37 version 17.10.369.39012 (r839077) BSPv1W13

Broadcom BCA: 17.10 RC369.40012
wl0: Jul 28 2025 13:39:37 version 17.10.369.40012 (r839077) BSPv1W13

This would indicate a new driver as version went from 39012 to 40012
This is just an example as there is no 40012 driver.

It can activate and deactivate automatically if you go to the Bandwidth Monitor page, as you might do if you’re trying to get to the Speed test page.
I can't reproduce this little hiccup, even when I enable or disable Trend Micro services. So, unfortunately, I can't pinpoint what's causing this entry. I'll keep an eye on it.

I noticed the ethernet display issue on alpha2 release. Port 1 is now port 4. Functions fine on BE92U, just doesn't show up correctly.
I also thought it was a display issue, so I did some more testing:

On the 'Double WAN' page, I selected the '2.5Gbit LAN 1' as internet port.
The I unplugged everything and plugged the internet cable into LAN1.
NO INTERNET!

I also messed around with double wan - same result. My conclusion is:

There's no way you can use any LAN ports for internet access!

So this is something deep down in the firmware. I can't believe Asus haven't tested such a basic thing but instead relies on us to test their firmware. They really SHOULD have a testing suite to catch things like this.

Edit:
Reverted to 3006.102.4, now 2.5Gbit LAN port can work as internet port (auto detection), think I will stay here.

Another warning:

"Jul 6 19:14:03 kernel: *** ERROR: [udb_shell_mod_exit:667] Udb static = 0, dynamic = 48"

Everything is working as expected on my RT-BE96U with 3006.102.5 Beta. Thanks!

I'm currently doing some diagnostics and investigations, due to the previous upgrade failure.
I'm pretty much back to the same stage as before, excluding some scripts.

Since it seems like some or all BE routers got new WiFi drivers (?) I also looked closer here. At WiFi, Professional options are not identical anymore, most likely due to drivers. (maybe modifying some options here could have messed up the upgrade)
I use 2.4/5GHz with MLO (160), with IoT + 1 VLAN for an isolated client. From what I can see, this works as intended.

Unsure if the following is normal though.
I see 1 of each 2.4 and 5 GHz *hidden* SSID following them, regardless of the channels used (so it's coming from the router itself). They kind of come and go, and can't see both hidden all the time. But a funny detail, they are both identified as WPA2/WPA3 rather than WPA3 only (main, VLAN) or WPA2 only (IoT)
Don't know if this was a thing before or not. So maybe this is normal.
I realize that this is most likely an Asus issue, if an issue at all. But it might be good to ask and confirm the behavior here, as I assume this driver has not reached any official firmware yet.

Depending where you look you,'ll find different answers. To me this ghost network is part of MLO, and I don' t worry about it.

Great! That makes sense.

Think I figured out what breaks it for me. Everything installed and setup, but without ntp/spd/tailmon.
Enable Adaptive QoS. Didn't notice an issue, yet. Reinstall FlexQoS (because when and if it decides to work again on BE model I want to find it out)... boom... Had to factory reset again. Can't gain access to it after that...

Hi, Is Adaptive QOS of RT-BE88U working properly? And is there Jumbo Frame in this version of Asuswrt-Merlin firmware?

Is this my server (Unraid/Docker/VM) doing something strange or has something changed between .4 stable and this beta affecting this?
Both numbers keep "counting" up every 1-2 sec but drops down to sane numbers after it counts up to 200-250 "clients".
Sane is like Clients: 30-40 and the "x clients are connecting to..." goes away but it starts counting up again and repeats.
Docker is using macvlan so the containers shows up as individual clients/devices and that's fine but I don't understand the ~200 ghost clients that mysterious goes away and comes back.

Edit: Ok. So dirty downgrade to 3006.102.4 stopped this behavior.
There definitely appears to be an issue with the Clients count on the web UI home page. I'm showing 140+ (and counting), while only showing 74 (seems accurate) via Android app.

Don't know exactly what parts of Adaptive QoS that don't work. But on previous firmware it seems to do "something" at least (got effects on benchmarks), but FlexQoS was running blind with no data.
