Completely sure Eric, since my router day 1, My ECC cert was working perfectly, using prime256v1 curve. In fact, when I updated and I have been looking at the possible problem, by SFTP I verified that they were correctly in /jffs/.cert, and they were my usual certificates, but instead of them the Router was using its own self-signed, which I gave counts at the moment by the warning of the browser itself. That as I said, I have solved it by generating a new one using the ECC cert as a template and an RSA key.

Regarding QoS, I have uninstalled FlexQoS and made sure there was nothing left. I have upgraded to the new build that you released a while ago for the AX58U and the problem persists. The Router correctly identifies the connections, but for practical purposes QoS does not seem to be working, at least in adaptive. The log does not return anything, the configuration file /tmp/bwdpi/qosd.conf is not generated. I have seen in another thread another user who had the exact same problem with an AX58U also, but with Alpha3, in his case he reformatted the JFFS without success. Any ideas before fully reset the Router?

I'm having (and had on a previous Beta code the same exact issue - FlexQoS. Never got it to work at all. Reverted to mainline Merlin code and it was fine.

everything almost working fine on RT-AC5300 Beta 1 - still getting 3 wired clients on Network Map - none of the 20 odd wifi clients.
Still getting these flooding log:- with no AIMesh nodes connected
Dec 7 17:12:44 RT-AC5300-0680 rc_service: watchdog 521:notify_rc start_cfgsync
Dec 7 17:12:44 RT-AC5300-0680 custom_script: Running /jffs/scripts/service-event (args: start cfgsync)
Dec 7 17:12:44 RT-AC5300-0680 custom_script: Running /jffs/scripts/service-event-end (args: start cfgsync)

otherwise all OK

Do you have uiDivStats installed?
I had the same issue with uiDivStats installed and a swap file on a slow usb drive.
I replaced the usb flash drive with a faster one and enabled cache in uiDivStats and my CPU usage went back to normal.

Yes - I have uiDivStats installed ... and a "slow" usb drive - but no swap yet. Hmm - but thanks for the tip - I will try disable uiDivStats and look if it's going back to normal...

Two things I noticed on my AX86U since yesterday:

This kernel log EVERY HALF an hour:

...but it seems it doesn't do any harm (at least i didn't noticed it yet)

and

"kernel: 192.168.0.199 already exist in UDB, can't add it" every few minutes ... don't know what this means

Best regards
Stefan

You were absolutely right - as soon as I disabled uiDivStats the CPU went back to normal - I had no caching enabled - will test this later. Thanks again

Many thanks for your feedback.
I have tried already but without any success. When i search for node it never appears

EDIT / Solved the issue by downgrading RT 5300 to 384-19 now it works

There are definitely AiMesh issues with the AC5300 Triband [acknowledged by Asus as "temporary" problem in red text on the help screen when you try set "System Settings" on the new Aimesh Tab to "Ethernet Backhaul Mode"].

I solved the problem in the same way as you did - but in addition after WPS reset of the AC5300 after directly attached laptop had restored RMerlin 384.19 - I used "Advanced settings" to skip along to "want to add this as Aimesh Node" - then fired up the search function of the RT-AC86U Main Router [running 386.1-b1] to find a Node which it did quickly over wifi.

BTW you can safely upgrade the AC5300 to Asus Stock 386 Beta firmware - but do NOT apply @RMerlin 386.1-b1 to the AC5300 as it will once again break the Node connection. Must be something buggy in the compile for the AC5300 if Stock works but Merlin doesn't.

EDIT: - Problem confirmed by RMerlin in this post above for AC5300 and AC3100 {ThumbsUp} - need to await fresh Beta for these models if using Aimesh.

upgrade AX86 from alpha4 to beta1 was smooth, but still 1 problem: wan get disconnected after changes network-related values. Steps taken:
1) installed beta1 over alpha4
2) enable jffs reformat at next boot
3) factory reset
4) reboot
5) re-entered all settings (no issues so far, even changing network values, doesn't disconnect the wan)
6) reboot
7) added extra guest network
8) wan disconnected
9) switch wan off and on doesn't help, only thing I get then is 'Your ISP's DHCP does not function correctly'
(I already tried some stuff from different post but no luck)

log entry that bothers me:
Dec 7 08:29:44 kernel: ^[[0;33;41m[ERROR mcast] bcm_mcast_netlink_process_snoop_cfg,926: interface 38 could not be found^[[0m
Dec 7 08:29:45 kernel: wl0: fatal error, reinitializing, total count of reinit's[1]

and started showing up as soon my wan is disconnected

I hope @RMerlin has som idea

Okey, how do you config/use it?

I have a UNRAID "Server" direct attached - the network card is a Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8125 2.5GbE Controller

No config at all ...

AX88U. Dirty flash from Alpha1. No issue so far. I didn't use guest network so can't comment on the known issue.

"Known issues:

  • Lots of "messages suppressed" on RT-AX88U syslog when using Guest Network 1 (upstream issue, was reported to Asus. As a workaround use Guest Network 2 instead, though it won't be shared across AiMesh nodes)"

Might be coincidence, but I can't get on my customer's VPN (using Cisco AnyConnect) since I upgraded to 386.1 Beta 1.

Investigating...

Bad bugs in this version 386.1. DHCP does not work. eg change the WiFi side of the Ip address to another. For example, the requested address 192.168.1.143 is displayed on the WiFi 192.168.102.143. It works ok after the thread.

I connect to my work VPN using Cisco AnyConnect on my PC without issue.

Are you trying to connect with the VPN Client from the router?

No; the Cisco AnyConnect App for macOS.

Like I said: it might be coincidence, but all my colleagues can log in fine and I can't... (while I could before upgrading the firmware)

Are you going to tell us what router you are using?
What version you are coming from?

Or are we going to have to guess?
