If it needs VLAN, then you will have to wait for beta 2, there are issues with the RT-AC68U and switch configurations in beta 1.
Yeah

I'm getting this in RT-AC86U logs. Connection cuts off and comes back again.
Probably a client that bounces between radios.

I have a small problem. I can't do a dirty update to beta from 386.3_2 on RT-AC68U through the web interface. I choose the "RT-AC68U_386.4_beta1.trx" in the GUI, router goes through the usual upgrade process, but when it's done, the interface still says that the router is on 386.3_2 firmware.
Help?
Thanks.

Edit: I managed to fix it. I had "Enable access restrictions" set to "Yes". It updated just fine when I disabled it. Is that a bug or is it working as intended?

As my children and wife remain quiet about internet issues right now, I will abstain from this release until at least after the holidays.

Peace and goodwill to all techys.

From a previous post by RMerlin :
"dcd crashes have been happening for years. It's proprietary Trend Micro code, I have no control over it (neither does Asus AFAIK)."

Just randomly checked: 60 days of flawless uptime on my AX86u running Merlin. No need to reboot without releases! Glad to hear things are flowing again.

Bought an AX-56U last week the day this Merlin beta was released. Installed, factory reset, configured and worked perfect so far. I did several speed tests over the weekend to decide where to mount the router and how to point the antennas and all was fine. However, since this morning my phones internet gets dropped constantly from 5ghz (wifi signal is fine though). On locations where it was reaching a stable 350mbps+ all weekend long it now gets < 1 mbps (yes, one). I rebooted the router, my phone, nothing works. It constantly shows wifi full signal but no internet. Analiti speed tests consistently fail to even ping the router. On all other devices 5ghz works perfectly fine, same as before. I checked the router logs and see no errors whatsoever.

I tried connecting to 2.4ghz instead (I split the SSIDs) which seems to work fine. Any idea what could suddenly cause this? Not even sure this is beta FW related as the issue seems quite 'random' to me (no router settings were changed either).

Having a uptime meter for wan would be cool, not like having long uptime on router it self is any challenge, by vpn used to disconnect daily until i found out rj45 was terminated incorrectly for wan at the modem, first 2 wires where swapped and it would forgot ipv4 existed once a month or drop down to 100 mbps and disconnect vpn every few hours without it reconnecting.

:)
Current beta1 worked solidly through Winter Finals (kids), The Wife's online shopping, and a weekend of unwanted guests and Family.
-IPV6 working (comcrap)
-no other network issues I can blame on anyone other than myself.

Stay Safe and Happy Holidays

Ignore that. Part of the closed source AiMesh component, probably the component looks for the file too early on during boot (notice the May 5th date) before the file was created by networkmap.
Seems to used later regarding the log.

It appears to be connected with the Network Map (which is closed source). Do the timestamps coincide with you looking at it in the GUI?

Random thought: Maybe it doesn't like the ownership or permissions on that file.
Code:
# ls -l /jffs/nmp_*
-rw-r--r-- 1 admin root 3482 Dec 21 16:30 /jffs/nmp_cl_json.js
-rw-r--r-- 1 admin root 677 Dec 21 15:41 /jffs/nmp_vc_json.js

# df -h /jffs
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/mtdblock9 47M 3.8M 44M 8% /jffs

I've been looking around for a while and it seems like it's been written to the files.

Code:
octopus@RT-AX86U-EA08:/tmp/home/root# ls -l /jffs/nmp_*

Interested in next release... If I upload it to a node, can you also activate scripts on a node as well? I want to create a reboot script on the node, not on main router... Or anyone other tips?

You can probably put scripts in /jffs/scripts/ in Aimesh node, unsure if it's get executed, wort a try.

All my nodes are stable, don't want to touch them, but want to keep then in line with merlin... They run stock now...
