BE96u Firmware update error message.

When trying to check for firmware updates for my BE96u, I got a message saying “The router cannot connect to ASUS server to check for the firmware update temporarily. Please download the latest firmware from ASUS Product Support Site and do a manual update via Web GUI.”

I’ve tried rebooting the router and changing DNS servers with no change.

Anyone see this message before, idea what is causing it?

Yes, happens from time to time. May be due to maintenance or unplanned service disruption on the Asus side. Suggest you try again after several hours or next day, that always worked for me in the past. Alternatively, manually download the firmware from the specific router support website.
