Best firmware to date for RT-N66U?

Hi, currently i'm using version 3.0.0.4.380_3831. Using this version, my wifi range is so bad and wifi keeps disconnecting. Which is the best version for this router?

Following some or all of the links in the post below may help. Otherwise, many say john9527's fork of the RMerlin firmware is the best for that router (though, you will need to follow the same steps after flashing any new (or older) firmware on your router.

You'll probably need to use the Asus firmware restore tool to move to an older firmware (if your current firmware still allows it). The gui will be no use at all.

Hi Yasodharan,
what firmware does you use now for the RT-N66u?
Is the Wifi-Range better as with the stock Firmware?
Have also a bad WiFi-Rabge with any stock firmwraes.
