Hello

I am looking for a dual wan router which will combine the bandwidth of 50mb cable and upto 16mb DSL connections. I ve been checking out a few but none seem to fit the requirements . I dont want to break the bank either ;)

Any help is much appreciated :)

I can recommend this Draytek 2930- if I recall it can aggregate throughput for about 60 or 70 mb of WAN bandwidth.

As for not breaking the bank, well truth you're not going to get much good for cheap - to do that something usually has to be cut to hit a price point usually either quality, components, warranty or all of the above. This one will cost about close to 200 pounds UK (seg.co.uk) or more than 300 bucks in the US (guideband.com).

Thank you for the replies

I ve read some where that the Draytek will not let you combine the two connections for the increased bandwidth

my budget was £300-400

Thanks

I suspect you are thinking of their 2820 series (ADSL modem + 4 port router)which has 3G and regular WAN as input. But I have not heard of any such limitation on their routers.

For example going to their webpage for the 2930 for example:
http://www.draytek.co.uk/products/vigor2930.html
"The Vigor 2930 is a high-performance dual-WAN firewall. The two dedicated ethernet WAN ports can provide load balancing, WAN failover or bandwidth aggregation (increasing total bandwidth onto the Internet)."

Personally, I have not heard of any such limitation. And they themselves say very specifically that they do provide that capability. For example, going to their webpage for the Draytek 2930 for example:

"The Vigor 2930 is a high-performance dual-WAN firewall. The two dedicated ethernet WAN ports can provide load balancing, WAN failover or bandwidth aggregation (increasing total bandwidth onto the Internet)."
