Does Reboot Scheduler on Primary Reboot Mesh Nodes on Merlin FW

There’s quite a number of older threads about reboot schedulers on Node, many ending with why do you need it, fix the underlying issue, which is correct but I’ll do that in a separate post.

So the mixed messages were that with
  • Stock FW Main and Stock FW Nodes, scheduled reboots of the Main also reboots the nodes
  • Merlin FW Main and Stock FW Nodes, scheduled reboots of the Main also reboots the nodes
  • Merlin FW Main and Merlin FW Nodes, not stated but implied that scheduled reboots of the Main does not reboot.
I’m loathe to use a script. Does anyone know the current status? It will change whether I use stock or Merlin on the nodes ( I appreciate there are differing views in this, better for another topic).

Further to the above, could the attached be added to a cron job and what format would that take please?
Does "System" here mean Router PLUS ALL Nodes?

This is from the AiMesh Menu.

Why don't you just try it (the scheduled reboot) and see what happens? In the time you've spent waiting for a reply you could have already gotten the answer.
I did. The button works to reboot Merlin Primary and stock Nodes at least. I guess that was a secondary question, as to how I can schedule that particular button press.

Or did you mean try and schedule it as well and see if that works to reboot the “System” as opposed to the whatever it is that Admin Tab, Admin - System, Reboot Scheduler reboots? I guess I could try that, set a time and check by watching the nodes.

I meant the "Reboot Scheduler" you asked about in the title of this thread.

Any new insights on this, @jksmurf? I'm also wondering how I can reliably restart an AIMesh system with three RT-BE92U devices running Merlin. The RT-BE92U is a very unreliable device, so I'd like to be able to reset it to a defined state every other day.

Configuring a scheduled restart on the AIMesh master didn't have the desired effect. Therefore, I'm wondering if the nodes are restarting at all. Every few days I notice that the more distant node has lost connection to the AIMesh network and is broadcasting passwordless 2.4 and 5 GHz SSIDs, either both ASUS_40 (which I can connect to, receiving an IP address in the 192.168.50.0/24 network via DHCP, so I can reset this node to factory settings and reconnect it to the AIMesh network remotely) or a pair of ASUS and ASUS_5G (which unfortunately don't assign IP addresses via DHCP, requiring physical access).

Edit: I just came across https://www.snbforums.com/threads/aimesh-nodes-get-scheduled-reboot-settings-pushed-by-master.90052/ – and indeed, running `nvram show | grep reboot` on the nodes shows that the nodes do know about the scheduled reboot settings, and the `uptime` command can be used to check if they are being honored.
