Downloads on 2.4GHz band is faster than 5GHz band

New Around Here
I recently bought a Asus RT-AC66U router and i have a computer connected on the 2.4GHz band and one connected on the 5GHz band.
If i have downloads going on the computer connected to the 5GHz band, and then if someone starts some downloads on the computer connected to the 2.4GHz band, this computer gets all of the download speed.
Is there any way fix it so the computer connected to the 5GHz band has priority over the one connected to the 2.4GHz band for the download speed?

Check the download speed on each band independently. It is likely that the 2.4 GHz band client has a higher bandwidth connection because its signal doesn't get reduced as quickly as 5 GHz.

If that is the case, you need to move the 5 GHz client closer, try a different adapter, or try reducing the transmit power on the 2.4 GHz band.

Also check if you have QOS on - it tries to be intelligent managing the priorities of the local client download requests and I have had 'mixed results' to say the least.

I have done a speed test on both bands and get the same results, which is what i'm suppose to get from my ISP = 30Mbps down and 5Mbps Up.

As far as the adapter goes i'm using the PCE-AC66 PCI-E on the computer connected to the 5GHz band.

Both of the computers are about 20 feet away from the router, with no major obstructions.

I will try reducing the transmit power on the 2.4 GHz band,do you suggest any settings for either band.
