For a device to utilize the radio spectrum in the United States, the FCC requires hardware manufacturers to apply for the relevant license. These publically-accessible applications typically include manuals, specifications, and photos of internal hardware; from this information the capabilities/performance of a particular device can be estimated weeks before the product reaches retail.
For November 1st-30th:
"D Link Corporation"
DIR-825 Rev B1 Major systemboard revamp. Radios integrated, and solder point for third external antenna removed. The new revision may not be too far along; the unit pictured did not have connectors/wiring for the dual-band radio. Switching chip and CPU were covered by heatsinks during photography. New radios are AR9220 (dual band 2T2R) and AR9223 (2.4 GHz 2T2R). Memory is 512Mb ProMOS DDR (V58C2512164SAI5?). I wonder how much this board has in common with the AR9002AP reference design.
DIR-605 Rev A2 Low-end 11n router not available in US markets. Single Ralink RT2820L radio. Ralink CPU. 256 Mb ProMOS SDR memory. Switch chip is IC+. Markings are indistinct, but it's almost certainly 10/100.
