Hello
I great idea is to abandon the spectrum Modem and get an aftermarket modem. I changed from the spectrum modem to a Netgear Nighthawk CM1200 and my connection rate changed from under 100Mb/s to over 350 Mb/s. I don't know exactly why but suspect since the no longer have control over the moden they can not cap the speed any more. On a visit from a spectrum tech I was informed he did no use their modem either to get better speeds, although he would not discuss why, perhaps to not be quoted and get in trouble with spectrum. Further see if up can get your incoming coaxial from the road upgraded from rg6/U to rg11/u. rg6/u if fine past the splitter into the house. The RG11/u is what they use for the feeder lines anyway so you could do well with this all the way to the house an as a matter of fact I had to have a dummy splitter installed so the signal was not too powerful for the modem. I only do internet now as I get all my TV via roku anyway. We are running 2 dual NIC servers, gaming devices, 5 TV's and a boatload of smartphones and tablets, 3 different WiFi's 2.4, and two 5g's and a wired mesh and finally multiple surveillance cameras on a 16 channel Dahua NVR. One might think all this would kill the rate but it keeps up!!! Also a ASUS gt-ac5300 Router
