I have ordered a RT-AC86U and am wondering now if it is possible to create a guest network that is isolated from the main network, but all devices connected to this guest network would communicate with each other. I need to create a separate network for work gear, which needs to talk to each other but not to the main network or other guest networks.

YazFi.

Oh, that is neat, thank you. Can you also clarify if I can create a guest network bridged across both bands so that devices on each band still communicate with each other but not with the main LAN/WLAN/other Guest networks? It is not clear from the snapshots that I found so far.

The factory Guest network configuration has the option to isolate from the remainder of the LAN.
