[HDD-AC86] Maximum HDD Size for RT-AC86U

i would if the ax86u can hold a jbod or raid0 enclosure with ssd
FYI, You have necroposted to a five plus year old discussion on the RT-AC86U. The RT-AX86U is a different significantly newer router model.

i know i was hoping someone has and can share experience with jbod/raid0 with asus routers i cant seem to find a straight answer

I have experience with corrupted files and partitions without JBOD/RAID on Asus routers… if it helps. Straight answer - not the best device to plug your HDDs into, this is a home router and not a NAS. If you value the data - find better options.

kool, i dont mind, i have plenty of backups just wanted to try something different ssd in jbod and/or raid0 mechanical HD

Useless because the transfer is CPU limited and the port speed doesn’t matter. Unreliable comes on top.

Most people set RAID0 for speed.

i will report back when i have it set up, still have to wait for terramaster enclosure to come in

Enclosures like this do JBOD/RAID internally and independent of the device they are plugged into.
