How to get VPN traffic as HIGHEST priority on QOS

Hi Guys

I have a device which connects to PIA VPN service and i want this to get max attention in terms of broadband download bandwidth , ive tried using all the QOS combinations but alas as soon as i get my kids downloading the latest and greatest Steam release it causes my VPN traffic to drop below a usable limit . The only partial solution I have got to work is using bandwidth limiter but this obviously affects the other users too much

any advice?

I have a AC 68U , 30 or devices but probably on 3 or 4 high bandwidth devices, running latest firmware

thanks

Simon

Have you set the priority of that device to the highest level on the bandwidth monitor tab? You can do this by clicking on the Highest icon and dragging it onto the device that you want to have that priority.

thanks , a case of RTFM as i never knew you could do that , will try it out and see what happens, I assume that it will work best if everything is set to low except my priority device as I assume it starts to try and proportion a % dependant on the priority so if devices are set to max and high and network is running at 100% it will still struggle to provide enough to max ????? hope that makes sense?

I just set the devices I want to have the highest priority (max 2) and then next higher (max 3), etc. and leave the rest as default. Seems to work fine as I let my streaming devices have the highest and then the work computers as higher.
