Internet Speed Test Servers not correct for my location.

It could be that the IP range your ISP is assigning to you was recently transferred from the UK, and the country db's haven't caught up yet?
Wish that were the case, I could request an update from speedtest for my ip's location. I have had this same IP since
last November when I switched to my internet provider.
Running speedtest on my windows desktop connected to the router list servers from around my location.
Using the API I posted earlier or https://whatismyipaddress.com/ both return the same local location (city,state,country).
for my IP.

What speedtest tool is reporting the wrong location?

Using the router web app and navigating to Adaptive QoS/Internet Speed or by running at command line.
The server list is the same.

agagne@rt-ax92u:/jffs/addons/spdmerlin.d/ookla# ./speedtest -V
Speedtest by Ookla 1.2.0.84 (ea6b6773cf) Linux/aarch64-linux-musl 4.1.51 aarch64

The official command line client for testing the speed and performance
of your internet connection.

Over IPv4 with NAT, I don’t know how the PC and router can be interpreted differently if coming from the same public IPv4 address. Maybe they ignore the “New” in “New England”…

They are not different comparing apples to apples. Using the Geo location api I get the same results on both PC and router.

Router:
agagne@rt-ax92u:/tmp/home/root# curl https://geo.ipify.org/api/v2/country?apiKey=AAAAAAAAAA
{"ip":"xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx","location":{"country":"US","region":"New Hampshire","timezone":"-04:00"},"as":{"asn":13977,"name":"CTELCO","route":"xxx.xxx.xxx.0\/22","domain":"https:\/\/www.consolidated.com","type":"Cable\/DSL\/ISP"},"isp":"Consolidated Communications - NNE"}

PC:

If that’s the case the Kiwis could find themselves close to Denmark …

@dave14305

The api you provided also returns the same data when run on the PC or router.
Unfortunately it provides UK servers.

On the bright side, you’re not really supposed to run a speed test from the router since it doesn’t measure the routing capability of the device.
Yea, normally I have not used speedtest on the router. Recently I had the bright idea of checking out running some VPN clients
on the router. Since some individuals created an such an awesome app (spdMerlin). I thought I should like to see how the VPN clients performed
over time.
