Looking for a Router w/ unique VPN options

New Around Here
I commute regularly between my European and U.S. based offices. I am looking for a hardware VPN solution that enables me to connect to my U.S. office while still allowing my family (in Europe) to use the internet and not be on the VPN. Is it possible to have a few of the LAN ports be under the VPN and a few not on the VPN?

I was looking at this product:

Any advice / suggestions?

Cheers,
Dave

Never heard of a situation where one client initiates a VPN tunnel.... this drops all other connections for other clients. I do that all the time and didn't have anything special to do. I could understand if you said that once you connect you can't connect to local resources (lack of split tunneling)

But if you want to segment yourself from your family maybe you should look at one that does vlans.

Any appliances that say 'VPN' typically means that it can create multiple site to site tunnels with other appliances. Other than that any router that supports VPN passthrough (IPSec/PPTP) will work for remote end user VPNs which sounds like what you are doing.

It is not that big of a deal when I got to thinking about it. I can always put a router before my vpn appliance and have one port go to the family wireless router... and one port go to my router.

I'm assuming this is possible. But you can easily tell the VPN not to connect to the public network if the VPN goes down correct?

Any device suggestions? or did the one I suggest seem to get the job done?

Cheers,

Dave
