main repo ( http://pkg.entware-backports.tk/packages/ ) is updated.
you may see also some of the old packages - I hope to fix this after I'll compile all the packages
Are you planning on updating your repo on a longer term basis?
I ask because there are Diversion users asking for the newer pixelserv-tls v2.2.0 which you have compiled in.
If you do, I plan on giving MIPS routers the option of using your repo instead of the default.

Also, pixelserv-tls v2.2.1 is available, do you plan on compiling this version as well?

hi,

I plan to maintain this repo for at least this year (2019).
I'm relatively new to the development world and it's a good exercise for my day job :)
i'll update to pixelserv as soon as it's in the entware mainline which i'll try to follow as close as possible.

Good, using the parallel opkg.conf sed modifier works as intended. If your repo (http://pkg.entware-backports.tk) becomes unavailable the opkg list is falling back to the original entware-ng default.
I'll add it as an option for Diversion installations running on MIPS routers to use your repo in parallel.

Thanks for your contribution by the way!

for me it's working.
as you've noticed I use the 000webhost.com as it's a free service.
If you have a more reliable web host available I'm happy to relocate the repo :)

I didn't mean to be MEAN, sorry :) I checked it on isup.me and it reported your main repo as down so I wanted to notify you. And Github is almost always up so I wonder why you're using the .tk one as main, or why you're using it at all.

Hello all,

I've updated the repo on the secondary mirror (http://maurerr.github.io/packages/) - there are a lot of updates and managed to get the packages number up to ~2600.
The highlight is the openssl update to 1.1.1 that might break some things during the upgrade - especially if you use the entware wget - I had to download the libssl manually and apply the package( cd /tmp; /usr/sbin/wget https://maurerr.github.io/packages/libopenssl_1.1.1a-2_mipselsf.ipk ; opkg install libopenssl_1.1.1a-2_mipselsf.ipk)
let me know how goes the upgrade

If all goes well in about a week I'll update the main repo too

That's good news, thank you!

Added the secondary repo (opkg install ca-certificates was required to update from github).

Updated wget as your instructions & upgraded.

Noted pixelsrv-tls was stopped, I had to start in Diversion.

For Diversion users, I've added both @maurer 's repos to the "Parallel use Entware-backports Repo" option in ep, 6.
They are added as follows to /opt/etc/opkg.conf:
Code:
src/gz entware-ng http://pkg.entware.net/binaries/mipsel
src/gz entware-backports http://pkg.entware-backports.tk/packages
src/gz entware-backports-mirror https://maurerr.github.io/packages

How to enable backports main and mirror repos
- In Diversion, use u or d and force update Diversion to get the latest files, there is no version change (4.0.8)
- Disable packports Repo at ep, 6, 7. This will not remove any Entware packages at all, so don't worry.
- Enable packports Repo at ep, 6, 7. Then let it update the packages when it asks for it.

As in the screenshot below, you'll now have both the main and mirror backports repos enabled.

Thank you!

What should we be on the lookout for after installing, updating and enabling these packages? If anything?

If done through Diversion, nothing in particular. pixelserv-tls gets restarted and you'll see the latest version in amtm and Diversion.
Some other scripts may require re-running to replace the overwritten Sxxx startfile. Diversion does that automatically for pixelserv-tls if done through it.

I have tried a few times to upgrade Diversion using both u and d, 3 and both with a forced upgrade and that part successfully finishes.

However, there is no option '7' after entering 'ep', '6', while in Diversion? This is on my RT-AC86U.

Is there a step that I am missing, maybe its time to call it a night? :)

1. Read thread title again ;)
2. Have a MIPS based router such as the old RT-AC66U
3. Profit from the backported repositories

Yes! Time to call it a night. Sigh... (but I don't want to go to bed yet...) lol...

Thank you thelonelycoder!

@maurer could you append post #1 with the info that Diversion gives the option to enable the repos in ep, 6 for supported mipsel based routers?
Thanks
