Hello all,

I've updated the repo on the secondary mirror (http://maurerr.github.io/packages/) - there are a lot of updates and managed to get the packages number up to ~2600.
The highlight is the openssl update to 1.1.1 that might break some things during the upgrade - especially if you use the entware wget - I had to download the libssl manually and apply the package( cd /tmp; /usr/sbin/wget https://maurerr.github.io/packages/libopenssl_1.1.1a-2_mipselsf.ipk ; opkg install libopenssl_1.1.1a-2_mipselsf.ipk)
let me know how goes the upgrade

If all goes well in about a week I'll update the main repo too

Took the dive according to your instructions, all good so far. Thank you very much !!

its done - a little late (as I was in holiday)
Thank you for your work !
And exiting things I unintentionally heard may happen soon on the Entware mainstream repo front. Go for it and thanks for your work!

It is sad to hear that you won't be actively maintaining the repo after December, but anyways, thanks for updating packages and keeping our old devices up-to-date so far.

packages on both mirrors are updated.

I take advantage on the occasion to announce that I've decided for obvious reasons not to actively maintain these backports after December 2019 !

Your obvious reason being your time it consumes? Thanks, it‘s been a great help having updated packages. Will your repo remain online after December?

High end MIPS boards are aging out, and most are being replaced by ARM devices that are actively supported by entware.

There's still an active community of MIPS/MIPSEL 24K/74K in OpenWRT land - mostly focused on Atheros, MediaTek, and Lanitq - Broadcom MIPS is supported at a SOC level to some degree, with wireless being the primary exception due to closed source drivers there.

I've switched to DD-WRT a couple of months ago and am able to use original, up-to-date Entware repo on my RT-N66U, as well as other benefits of kernel 3.10 such as FQ_CODEL, cake, etc.

I would really like to give OpenWRT a try, unfortunately, because Broadcom's wireless drivers are closed source and OpenWRT only uses FLOSS drivers, wireless doesn't work on Broadcom devices with OpenWRT.

yes, it seems that dd-wrt (although I don't particularly like the way it's development is done) is the only viable solution right now for a maintained firmware with a more recent kernel.
my rt-n66u is retired to a WAP role and can live with john's firmware for the remainder of it's days (or until the next KRACK-like vulnerability)

Hi All,

@maurer, is the repo still working? I have the following error:

Code:

Hi,

I'm looking for MIPS net-snmp 5.9 or above. Does anyone know where to find it?

Code:
NET-SNMP version 5.8
ipaddress_linux: could not open /proc/net/if_inet6: No such file or directory
ipaddress_linux: could not open /proc/net/if_inet6: No such file or directory
ipaddress_linux: could not open /proc/net/if_inet6: No such file or directory

Thanks
