Mobile dongle recommentations?

Our broadband has packed up and gone on strike, and I was wondering whether to try a USB 4G dongle. Currently using my mobile as a hotspot, which might get me by until its fixed, but I've often thought it'd be nicer to have a relatively seamless backup solution.

Has anyone done this and got a recommended dongle that works? (I have an AC88U). Be particularly interested if anyone has got a Vodafone K5161 working.

Thanks, but that's a list of ancient dongles you can't buy anymore.

I ended up using a phone hotspot, which is what I guess a lot of people do. Didn't feel up to taking a 45 quid punt on the Vodafone stick.
