Open Mesh's A42 is a new dual-band AC1200 class PoE-powered access point, replacing the company's previous A40 dual-stream AP.

The company claims the A42's quad core processor platform supports twice the number of devices and delivers up to "3X more data throughput than the previous model".

Wireless link rates for the 2x2 Open Mesh A42 max out at 300 Mbps at 2.4 GHz and 867 Mbps at 5 GHz. Other features include built-in firewalling and support for multiple SSIDs and device fingerprinting.

Each access point includes a USB port, two gigabit Ethernet ports and is encased in an IP55 rated enclosure, allowing outdoor installation. Included with the access point are several mounting kit options, including wall-, ceiling-, pole- and desktop kits, expanding the number of installation options.

Open Mesh’s CloudTrax software and mobile app support plug-and-play deployments, client and bandwidth management, statistics and device troubleshooting. The cloud-based system doesn't require an onsite controller.

Priced at $185, the Open Mesh A42 is available for shipping from Open Mesh and/or its community of distributors.
