Yep all those are set to on.

Wondering if its the actual share types. But why would it work with the firewall off.

How easy - if at all - is it to selectively reinstate the firewall? I'm thinking of the analogy with clean-boot troubleshooting - selectively reinstatiing services from none at all and rebooting till you find the problem one. I wonder if it's practicable to do something similar with standard Windows firewall ...

I have used that program I mentioned, Windows Firewall Control (WFC), once or twice over the years to locate the troublesome socket by deleting every rule and then dealing with each new request as pops up afterwards. It wasn't as horrendous as it sounds**, but the settings had to be such that Profiles was Medium and Notifications High, so a licence is necessary. Maybe that gives you food for thought, though? For example, you might temporarily disable the rules relating to ports 139/445 (see Merlin above) and see if it works then. Once you find the answer it'll probably be a case of "Of course, I should have thought of that."

**. As I remember it, the Microsoft rules repopulate on reboot; it's the third-party ones that pop up as you use the associated program. The layout of WFC makes it easy to go through and disable Windows rules as well but I expect you can do that without WFC.

So I changed the inbound rule protocol from icmp4 to any and it all seems to work

When I saw that image it was so obviously wrong I had assumed you had changed it after you did the screen shot Oh well, that'll teach me not to assume anything. Glad you found the solution.
