What's new

Entware Pi-hole directly on the router? Yes!

Now that you've been brought into play here, resistance is pointless. You have been assimilated, so to speak, my lord. - Seriously, if it is possible, try to provide support.
Seriously, @SomeWhereOverTheRainBow did an outstanding job with AGH... I think this would compliment perfectly if he's got the time to work on this.

AMAGHI... must be called AMPIHI. 😀

First request always seems to take a while to load, it's just how the built-in webserver works, nothing really to fix here. I remember people reported slow web UI with https in the past.
The values 0 or 1 for "webserver.threads" (bibikalka value 4, default 50) speeds up the loading times of iOS Safari considerably. Also with Chrome & Firefox on Windows a clear difference is noticeable. Unfortunately, it does not solve the interfaces problem. 😕

These two things are completely unrelated.
"webserver.threads" is a maximum number of processes to spawn.
While 1 might work, it would be better to have it set to something like 4 because the webserver also has to serve assets.
It sped up in your case because the assets were probably already cached by the browser, to have more accurate results one would have to disable caching completely.

Well, I'm aware of that.

I tested it in private mode on Safari. And also with freshly emptied cache with the mentioned browsers on Windows.

Since unfortunately no one else has reported here about the interfaces problem, the question, does the page load with you? The only difference would be the Merlin firmware.

Interfaces look good for me, see the screenshot

First load always takes a while for me, after few hours of inactivity the cache might be stale and it will have to fetch all the assets again so it will be once again a bit longer to load.

It is really a job for a pro if one has time ...

It's a limited number of changes, but in a few places. Better to keep the style consistent.

Warning though - if installs are made easy, it'll totally displace Diversion :) ( @thelonelycoder )

Also, will need to ensure that the new PiHole versions are being consistently compiled as they are released.

Same here, but it's such a rare need, that I don't mind at all.

Btw, the Android app named "Pi-hole client" can pull stats really quick, no lag for this one.

Damn... what's wrong with me then? What else can I do?
Can you try to run the interface query manually and see what it says on the command line? Are your processes running as pihole ?

@ec
Sorry, how am I supposed to understand that?
As the "pihole" user, which they do in your output!

So mine is the ancient AC branch. You are on AX. I wonder if there were some changes which removed the ability to see the interfaces.

Unfortunately, I'm too stupid to understand what you mean.😔

You do have "pihole" user added, so that's the same as mine.

Asus-Merlin AX branch is a lot newer than on my AC86u, it's a different major release. So there could be some Asus-Merlin version impact.

@eclp
Try running this commands from the SSH:
Code:
pihole api network/gateway
pihole api network/gateway?detailed=true
The output will most likely contain sensitive IP, so use the tool I mentioned earlier, you can safely post the returned link here as nobody except me can view it.

The output is too big, I have to do it on the computer tomorrow.
Thanks so much

Is that known?
Code:
WARNING API: The API is hosted at pi.hole/api, not pi.hole/admin/api)

Does the first command return anything?

Is that known?

Where are you seeing that?

Code:
admins@RT-AX88U:/tmp/home/root# pihole api network/gateway
