I could successfully proceed to start the S95Pyload but now getting erro when creating a file to start automatically after every router reboot
[ Error writing /jffs/scripts/post-mount: No such file or
directory ]

Another query .. which is a better way to install and use a download manager on RT-AC68U:
a. Optware
b. Entware
c. Optware-NG
are there any better download managers over Pyload in your opinion?

thanks for your advise and valuable input
In this moment I recommand Optware-NG because Allexx is very, very responsive, you can ask him for any issue or package here https://github.com/alllexx88/Optware-ng/issues
Dunno which download manager is better because I don't use any

I have to do a tutorial about how to install pyload through optware-ng if is not working out of the box by installing with ipkg install pyload
Anyway, pyload on optware-ng is the latest version with most recent github commits

Thank you for your help: I will try and install using optware-ng next week and publish my experience.

Hi, I had big troubles with the installation of pyload on a RT-AC56. (The pyload.org isn't reachable and with the other methods some package weren't installed.) I solved this problems, but now I can start pyload only by SSH:
admin@RT-AC56:/tmp/home/root# /opt/share/pyload/pyLoadCore.py

If I try to start pyload by the following command,
admin@RT-AC56:/tmp/home/root# /opt/etc/init.d/S51pyload start
I get the echo:
starting pyLoad
Daemon PID 17772
But I can't reach the webinterface.
admin@RT-AC56:/tmp/home/root# /opt/etc/init.d/S51pyload statu
I try the status command and get false as answer.

Does anyone know the solution for my problem? Thanks!

What do You mean exactly? (I tried this method before and it doesn't work. Maybe I have done somehting wrong.)

Now, I tried all steps again. First I installed Optware New Generation (including step 6), next I used ipkg install pyload nano (including step 5). After the installation I used this command:
/opt/etc/init.d/S98Pyload start. I get Starting PyLoad and Daemon PID xxxxx Nothing else. I can't reach the web interface...

Update:
I repaeted all the steps on a ext4 1TB HDD. I used the following commands
admin@RT-AC56:/tmp/home/root# cd /opt/share/pyload and
admin@RT-AC56:/tmp/mnt/WD/optware-ng.arm/share/pyload# /opt/bin/python2.7 pyLoadCore.py --configdir=/opt/etc/pyload to see what happened...

What does Segmentation fault mean in this case?

There's a problem with the latest releases of RMerlin and pyload. The last two months a I've installed pyload at least 10times on my AC68U with John's fork and latest RMerlin's releases. With John's fork everything runs like butter but not with RMerlin's. Under terminal I get the info that pyload is started but I've no access to the webinterface. Swap is working and the harddrive is mounted.
Don't have any clue why it is like that. For me that means I have to stay with john's fork with my AC68U and only USB2.0 speed and not with my Netgear R7000 with RMerlin 380.57 and USB3.0 speed (even with AC68U pyload wasn't working)

i cant login as something is missing. It was working now its stopped working.

sorry for asking in such an old topic, is there a way to upgrade to pyLoad 0.4.20? Package available on https://github.com/pyload/p... https://github.com/pyload/p... I don't know why, but pyLoad is not available on http://bin.entware.net/armv... anymore.

Code:
admin@wlanrouter:/tmp/home/root# opkg update
Downloading http://bin.entware.net/armv7sf-k2.6/Packages.gz
Updated list of available packages in /opt/var/opkg-lists/entware
admin@wlanrouter:/tmp/home/root# opkg upgrade
Upgrading pyload on root from 0.4.9-20161208-1 to 0.4.20-1...
Collected errors:
* opkg_download_pkg: Package pyload is not available from any configured src.
* opkg_install_pkg: Failed to download pyload. Perhaps you need to run 'opkg update'?
admin@wlanrouter:/tmp/home/root#
