QoS and Bandwith

I ask this before never really got answer but I still curious about this.

When I turn on QoS its picks up 60mbit Down & 8mbit up

Speedtest.net Reports 59mbit down, but it reports 3.5mbit up . Soon as I turn off QoS it reports 8mbit up, With QoS on If I double the Up from 8mbit to 16mbit, then Speedtest.net report 8mbit up.

Is QoS supposed to be limiting uprates to roughly half the max it picks up?

Also all my ps3 report router does not support fragmented data with QoS on.

Make sure you correctly configure the upstream value on the QoS page. I get my full 10 Mbits here on my 30/10 Mbits cable package (well 9.7 actually due to how I configure my upstream bandwidth).

QoS is setup at 60mbit down, 8mbit up Speedtests show correct download speeds but UP show 2.5m 3.5mbit at best when QoS on Soon as i turn it off upload speedtests come back as 8mbit.

I paying for 50/8 and getting 60/8 so I set it as so. I pretty much have to double the upload setting to get correct upload speeds

Transfer column is Upload, then Download correct? Cause only thing that has transfer limits is

Web/Https traffic which is 0~512

If you leave the default rules as-is, then it should not impact Speedtest.net - this is what I also use for my own tests.

Are you doing your tests with a wired device? In the past I have sometime heard of strange QoS behaviour when connecting over wireless. I don't know if these issues still exist or not.

Default settings, Only thing I changed was removed the file transfer rule, and add rules for Swtor.

All speedtests are done on wired pc.

Unless me changing the transfer speed for each priority from there defaults did this, but then all the QoS are highest, Which is full bandwidth anyway.

All i know is QOS auto assigns 60/8 and download speeds are correct but upload is 2.5-3.5 at best with QoS on.

I will post picture of the settings when I am home.

Try switching back to the default rules. Keep in mind that any unclassified traffic ends up in the lower priority class by default if there is anything with a higher priority needing bandwidth. So if you have a low-throughput web access going on, the high throughput web access (the speed test) will end up as lowest-priority traffic.

There was one previous poster a few months back, who noted that items not explicitly defined are of "Low" priority. I took that to mean that any explicit "Low" I defined were just ahead of the un-defined items, and "Lowest" to be the absolutely deferrable things, and following this notion I found the greatest success with QoS.

Not sure if QoS is also the problem you're facing, but it's true that across PDFs, official pages, the web-ui itself, the terminology used to label or describe the feature is plain confusing (I actually ended up doing more of a bell-curve distribution in the "Upload bandwidth" table...)

Most of these test are all done when no one is using the network

after some testing it would seem if it not specified, in QoS the upload speed limited according to the "Low" setting range which i find odd seem it dont effect download speed at all

So as a test I put my pc's mac address in and set it to highest and I get correct speeds on it. Went to my other wired pc, which gets same download speeds but uplaod is limited it the low setting defined in qos.

So I i am reading this right and understanding this right. I put mac address to each device and set of speed settings correct I can Actual limit speeds to each device.
