Had a similar problem on my AC68U, at just shy of 5 days usage... but after doing the power-cycle (rather than a reboot) I've now been running almost 6 days without a hiccup (on 380.66-2).

And I shouldn't have spoken so soon. Today a few hours after I sent that post, my router rebooted itself with no obvious errors logged to indicate the cause.

I was initially having issues with Android devices disconnecting repeatedly. After a week of up time and no drop outs I am unable to reproduce the problem. So all is well on my AC88U. OpenVPN, AiProtection, ipv6, adaptive QoS are working well. Logs are clean as well. Thanks Merlin for your work.

Fellow RT-AC3200 owners, your mileage my vary, but I found that I have apparently solved the different wireless stability issues I was seeing by returning all three bands to the same SSID. I've also noticed that my devices are being spread across the networks more evenly than I have ever seen with this router before.

Hi - I'm trying to set up OpenVPN on N66U @ 380.66_4 using VPNSecure.me provider but unfortunately I don't have any field for DH to be pasted in Keys and Certificates section. Is this a bug in a firmware or am I missing something? Router is brand now so don't know whether it was there at the first place or not (from what I can see on screenshots available over the internet, it should be there).

Hello,

I am new here on this forum. I have just bought a new AC66U, coming from N18U. I noticed, that on Asus Merlin, when you enable Firewall logging for accepted traffic, it also logs outbound connections.
Is there any way to modify this back to log only inbound ones? I am interested what IPs are trying to access my Synology NAS forwarded ports.
If there is an already topic about this, I am sorry for that... can you please point it to me?

Thank you

DH should only be provided for a server configuration, it should not be provided for a client.

hi guys
I have an issue on RT-AC66U with 380.66_4 (380.66 also has it)

it looks like immediatelly after boot the device can't connect to provider over pppoe

saw couple people also reported that smartsyn is not working for them, i also have the same problem.
Both Dropbox and Asus's own WebStorage is not working, get stuck at "INITIAL" Connection State...

Anyone has found any solution or is it a confirmed bug on this version?

today the device begun to rebooting in short intervals.
so I had reset it to factory settings (i didn't it when had flashed firmware from an old version to 380.65) and reconfigure it manually. now it seems all ok, at least last 8 hours

Do not use FQDN to login to the router. The new login gui, which is not present in john's fork, doesn't redirect to the proper index.asp if using anything other that the router's IP

Posting this bug. Enter router with "Device name" in your browser. You can't login, no redirects to proper index.asp

Did first TURN OFF the router? A reboot is sometimes not enough to reset the hardware fully...

I have also received text only pages, during the login, a couple of times. Next time it happens will post the URL and the page content.

It is this firmware then, I was just midway through a clean setup, manually restoring each page when it just happened again, so that rules out the backup/restore wizard and any plugins I used.

Known issue. Has been reported to Asus. Exists in stock Asus firmware, last two versions if my testing is correct.

Tech support doesn't seem to care about what users report to them.

Just to add before I am asked.
Asus Merlin 380.66_4 and chrome browser version 58.0.3029.110 (64-bit)

Repeated on laptop and PC both running the same chrome version. Impossible to reproduce as it happens at random.

I don't rememeber precisiolly, but probably i had turned it off with the button on the device.
Anyway as I remeber changes log recomends factory reset after upgrade from the firmware i had. So I just finished manual reconfiguration and it looks like it works fine

Could you explain this a little more? If I use my router's name like http://rt-ac88u.xxx in a browser I'm taken to the router's login page. I can login and I'm taken to the correct, as far as I can tell, index.asp page. The one difference I do notice, however, is that if I use the FQDN to get to the router's login page, my username and password aren't stored by my browser while if I use http://192.168.1.1, it is. 380.66_4 btw.

Glad to hear it's working, it should run smoothly. The difference I noticed with this version is when you reset the device airtime fairness is now set to disable by default. You can play with this setting to see if it makes a difference if it's enabled especially if you have older devices but found it useful even if you have all N devices. Trail and error and very specific to everyone's unique environment.

Thank you for mentioning that. I didn't notice the changes. I really appreciate your help. And I will do a test, and report back llater.
