Hello, can someone help me fix this error? So quite I do not know who should listen on this port.

[fatal] couldn't start forwarding DNS server: listening to udp socket: listen udp 0.0.0.0:53: bind: address already in use

Is it possible that this is related to the VPN server (UDP)?

Well start off by posting the output to this command from your command line

netstat -nlp | grep 53


And


netstat -nlp | grep 553

You may also want to uninstall diversion because this is not intended to run side by side with it and doing such may make an other wise stable router environment operate in an unstable manner.

Any gamers here using Adguard Home while playing online games? I had to go back to Diversion since I noticed some lag on some of my wireless gaming devices. I'm thinking it might be due to using some of the blocking list that I was using, however, when I use Diversion, I use the medium playlist and I don't notice any lag when gaming. Just wondering if anyone has noticed any lag while using Adguard Home?

A lot of it has to do with the style blocking adguardhome uses. Filters can be quite powerful. (sometimes over powerful.) If you got the link to the medium lists used, you should be able to just use it the same way. (instead of using filter style list.)

Just a heads up, I passed a patch to fix a few minor cosmetic things that were bugging me.
 
Just a heads up - my problem with spamming the system-log with i/o timeout messages is gone with the newest edge-version of adguard - thanks again for the new install-script.

I have another feature suggestion for your installer script...

If you want to use DoT like me you have to manually set an entry into the iptables and the Firewall-Start script to open the DoT port to the router itself (additionally to the port-forward).

Would be nice if your script could set this up - I even don't know if the way I made it is the "best" way... it works - but maybe there is another way or a more secure way...

I don't really plan on it, not because I don't think it is a great idea, but I don't want to just start throwing extra features around that confuses people that wouldn't normally run such. I don't want the general user space to think that just because the option is available during install time, that it is something they necessarily must do. For starters, not very many people necessarily need to run a dedicated DoT, DoH, DoQ, or Dnscrypt Server. A simple openvpn site to site tunnel (or even split tunnel) connection through the Asuswrt-Merlin is able to do the same thing, if not better, because the entire connection between the server and the client is completely encrypted, as oppose to using AdGuardHome as a dedicated server that any one who knows the address to can gain access to.
 
Regarding uninstall. I don‘t have “lan” domain, I tried to install and it automatically configures “lan”, but when I try to uninstall it didn’t remove the “lan” config.

Awesome find, I can set it up to remove on update, but it is added so the adguardhome can properly identify hostnames of local clients through reverse lookups. You are welcome to clear it yourself by going to your router's dhcp page and deleting the lan entry from domain spot.
 
So now Adguard works so far on the router after DNSCrypt was disabled.

I have now noticed that only simple DNS queries are in the connection log. I assumed that I simply activate a checkbox and the connection is then transmitted encrypted. (Similar to DNYCrypt over amtm) Can it be that this only works if I in
Settings >Encryption settings a certificate?

I have now longer searched but no way found with a Windows pc to create such a certificate, I must admit that I would have but without a Youtube video there difficulties.
Would anyone have instructions for the variant?

Was trying to do a fresh setup on a RT-AC86U but encounter the following error.

Anyone has any idea what is this about? Had even gone to the extend of doing a factory reset of the router as well.

Seems the download URL it builds is no longer valid. Looking to see what to change it to so I can install.

It isn't the URL but the check for branch before it downloads. I forced it, but the version of Adguard it downloads seems to heap crash for me.

This is what I have been getting for the last few days when trying to install. Back to Diversion for the time being.
 
first run uninstall option, then try installing using this link

For what your picture shows, it has determined you have not successfully downloaded AdGuardHome.

one line of code checks for this. if it is not installed, we back out.

I guarentee you the links are very much alive. They are the same one used by adguardhomes .sh installer, that they use themselves.
