The basic functionality hasn't changed much - bug fixes and updates.

The big improvement was the virtual switch, which isn't exclusive to Virtualization Station - the virtual switch is a big improvement however with VM's accessing the other resources hosted on the NAS directly, and networking between VM's (and containers from Container Station) is much better...

There was a change in QTS 4.3 and Virtualization Station 3.0 that did impact snapshots and backups, and this is documented in the 4.3 release notes.

thx for your feedback. I also found a small intro of sorts to the newer vs 3 here

Also just saw a recent video about virtualization gpu on ryzen. qnap has a ryzen model coming out probably end of this year or early 2018 according to computex. it also like some of their models supports graphics card addon.

any thoughts on that?

One helpful change in Virtualization station V 3 was we could open a VM console for any instance in a web browser without needing to install SSL certificate in the customers machine. I don't know if others had this problem with Virtualization 2 but we certainly did on customers machines. Its important for support because if browser access N/A and/or Qcentre n/a we have an alternate route into a NAS for service / support. (Particularly in and around firmware updates)
