Retrieve external IP for certain devices

New Around Here
Hi,

My ISP has tv set-top boxes that need an external IP.
I currently have a dd-wrt router where I assigned certain LAN ports to the WAN switch through it's VLAN configuration page.

Is this also possible with, let's say, the RT-N66U?
Does the default firmware allow this? Perhaps Merlin's, Tomato or another third party version?

The ISP itself provides AIO modem/routers that provide this by means of MAC passthrough (as I've understood). Basically the modem/router recognizes the MAC address of the set-top box and instead of assigning it an address from it's local DHCP pool, it passes the request to the external ISP DHCP.

The MAC passthrough would of course be ideal, because then I wouldn't need dedicated wires as I currently have with the DD-WRT solution.

Is this possible on any model/ custom firmware?

Many thanks!
