Repeater Mode is actually not available on the RT-AC66U.

This is something that Asus might add in the future.

Thank you Merlin. I appreciate it. I wish it had repeater mode. I would use my Cisco Router and the Asus as the repeater. This would be an awesome combination.

You can also look at using either MoCA or powerline networking to set up a hard connection without having to lay cable to connect an access point (AP) to your main router. That way you don't lose 1/2 your wireless bandwidth like you with a repeater setup.

On the other hand, powerline networking is more open to noise on the power lines than MoCA, MoCA just uses the cable TV cables in your wall to transmit ethernet signals. The problem with MoCA is that it may be very difficult with satellite TV. For me MoCA was plug and play, but I have regular broadband cable.
