[RT-AC68U] Just purchased, received an A1

New Around Here
Hey guys and gals, I purchased a 68U on Amazon for $107 and was thinking I would be receiving a C1 version as the label was shown in the photos however I received an A1 version. I'm just looking for suggestions on whether I should keep this one since it was a decent price, or return it and maybe go for the 66U b1 for about the same price? I'm replacing a TP-Link Archer C8 that is starting to fail on me. Thanks in advance.

Keep it. You can over clock it, you can put dd-wrt. It's nice you got one that gives you those options.
The C1 revisions can't be flashed to third party firmware. Even if you don't want to now, it's nice to have that option.
Of course you could have purchased cybrnook's for $40 less and gotten a new one clocked at 1.4ghz. Lol

Sent him a message ;)

C1's can't load the merlin firmware? Or just the non-Asus ones like Tomato.. ?

Can't load dd-wrt. Actually now I'm not sure. I know you can't use it on the rt-ac1900.

I just checked. It was the E1 that is not supported. C1 is. I'm sorry.

Interesting. I ordered AC68U from local e-shop on the same day as you, got E1

I have the AC56R now and am curious if upgrading to the 68U would give me better range and strength due to the 3 external antennas. Thanks
