Issues reported by other users this forum:
  • GPON SPF issue (reported by nadias-jp)
  • "Upnp: too many files open" (reported by me)
Known fixed issued from beta version 9.0.0.4_386_44323:
  • roamast memory leak ( reported by me)

I'm seeing about 15–20% less RAM usage with this production firmware compared to the latest beta. No idea if it stems from the roamast bugfix, but it's good to see something closer to 50% usage than >65% usage.

After upgrade very slow or laggy internet with Dual WAN in Load Balanced configuration. Reverted back to Version 3.0.0.4.386.23012 and issue gone.

Welcome to the forums @smartloom.

How long did you wait before you reverted back? The router was probably doing many internal maintenance things that the new firmware needs/requires.

Also, a full reset to factory defaults would be prudent if you really want to give the new firmware the best chance to show you what it's got.

Fully Reset / Best Practice Setup / More

Well I only gave it an hour as whole house internet was down and couple to reboots. Will give it a try again with factory reset but have to do a lot of setup after factory reset. Restoring old configuration probably is same as not doing a factory reset.

For some, an hour (or a full day) wasn't enough time for the router to fully update/optimize its internal databases.

See if just leaving it alone lets it come back up to speed.

Yes, importing an old saved config file negates the reset to factory defaults you would have performed.

Did the factory reset and it seems to be working fine. WAN connection takes little longer to connect to internet after reboot but that is not a big deal. Firmware update with factory reset is a pain if you have lot of custom setting.

Dual WAN definitely have issues with this new firmware. If I disable Primary WAN from GUI then Secondary WAN also go into Disconnected state while showing it still have ISP IP. When I enable Primary back and Secondary also comes online. Disabling secondary works fine as Primary stays connected. If Physically unplug the Primary than secondary works fine.

Well, a lot of bugs with this version of the firmware, the 2.4 ghz Wi-Fi is unstable, it doesn't even connect, it gives an error that it can't find the network after returning to factory settings, you have to wait about a minimum minute so that it connects, but when it wants to disconnect, it loses the connected devices, etc.

Regarding IPTV, more of the same, I have MOVISTAR in Spain and I have managed to configure it to work, but I cannot use advanced functions of rewinding, going to the beginning of a movie, fast forward etc.

It is impossible to configure the IPTV with AIMESH, there is no way for the decoder to work. (I have an AX88U and an AX58U and alone in AIMESH, it works perfectly), as soon as I put the server AX89X there is no way that it works well.

Apart from the bugs already mentioned, SPF and others, I am very disappointed with asus, a router that is worth 400 Euros and that fails more than a fair shotgun.

I have had to go back to my AX88U which works out of vice.
