Securifi today announced its Almond 3 Smart Home Wi-Fi router. The AC1200 class router features Gigabit Ethernet WAN (1) and switched LAN (2) ports, USB port, built-in ZigBee radio and security siren.

Securifi specs the Almond 3's coverage at 1300 sq ft and says coverage can be extended by adding more Almond 3's to create a wireless mesh-based network.

The Almond 3 also functions as a smart home automation hub. It can control ZigBee light bulbs, door and window sensors, thermostats, locks, and other smart devices using a free companion Almond app. Bluetooth and Z-Wave smart devices can also be supported via USB adapters (not included).

Securifi also announced its family of Almond routers is now compatible with Amazon’s voice command-based virtual assistant, Alexa. Customers can now give voice-commands and get results by using Amazon’s Echo, Echo Dot or Amazon Tap with Almond 3, Almond + and Almond 2015 routers.

Following the required software update, Securifi customers can edit schedules and automate IFTTT commands from their smartphone to manage home appliances, control lights, and adjust home stereo volumes and thermostat temperatures.

Individual Almond 3 routers and three pack router bundles will begin shipping in June. Pricing for a single router and three-pack is $149.99 ($119.99 pre-sale) and $399.99 ($299.99 pre-sale), respectively.
