Tutorial Simple guide to using GitHub

  • SNBForums Code of Conduct

SNBForums is a community for everyone, no matter what their level of experience.

Please be tolerant and patient of others, especially newcomers. We are all here to share and learn!

The rules are simple: Be patient, be nice, be helpful or be gone!

Since third party developers are an important factor of the success of the forum and the firmware I don't think it was a good idea to risk chasing them away for a rule that brings in a much smaller comparative value.

Only one single dev chose to leave. Time people started moving on by now, and stopped calling this an apocalypse when it wasn't.

Certainly not an apocalypse but a sizeable net loss for the forum.

It's one dev for now but we're still very early in the change, who knows if others will follow or tune down their development effort to lower their support effort.

When my thread reaches 6 months, I’m going to cut my forum time in half: from 16 hours a day to 8. Then you’ll be sorry! :)

@RMerlin, certainly not an issue for me. I read every post across all the forums on this site.

In a mere three weeks though, things are already messy.

I hope someone is around here in three years.

Well I'm glad all you are all here. When I am gone, no one will notice. And I will be. We will all be gone someday.
It makes me sad to think about it. I'm about ready to weep now. :-(

Edit: And this post was almost a total waste of bandwidth, except for a little bit of joy in the beginning.

ha!... planned resource management... a notable programmer from back in the day (at apple) told me once, "(one of) the objectives of good code is to not make the phone ring"...

True, though a firewall is a software that a lot of users have trouble understanding and when it uses third party live IP lists it can cause some false positives which result in support calls, it's unavoidable.

FWIW, the firewall(s) on asus stock firmware as well as skynet itself are hardly comprehensive firewall implementations... they do work as intended, however...
