some downloads won't complete

I have an Asus AC66U running the latest merlin 3.0.0.4.372.30_2.

I thought at first my issue was related only to my nexus 7 but alas I am having problems downloading only SOME software on multiple devices.

On the nexus 7, pretty much the issues revolve around not being able to download GOOGLE products (maps, gmail, calendar, drive, etc). I can resolve this by going to starbucks and all the apps download.

The same issue happens on my Samsung Note 2. But if I turn off my wifi and use my LTE to download, it works fine to download.

Last but not least, on my Win8 machine. I cannot download itunes update. It down loads to 57.80mb of 58.30mb and stops.

Anyone have any ideas? Going crazy here.

I actually have a Nexus 7 myself, and have no issue at all. Are you sure the issue isn't with your ISP or your modem?

I am pretty sure it is not my isp.

I have comcast and a docsis 3 modem.

I have a dlink dir-655 router and I just took it and put it in first place on my network (modem --> dir-655 --> computer/nexus 7) and immediately I was able to download my troubled apps.

In fact. I set up the network as (modem --> dir-655 --> ac66u (as AP) --> win8 machine) and I was able to download the trouble itunes update immediately and install it.

Still need some thoughts on this one.

Make sure the cable between the modem and the router is Cat5e or Cat6. An older Cat5 cable won't be stable with the Asus router since it has a gigabit Wan port (unlike the DLink). You should play it safe and try replacing that cable in case it would be defective.

Maybe this will or will not work on your Nexus 7 (if you haven't already),
go to the advanced wifi menu, unselect Wifi optimization.
Some reason my wifi disconnects on my Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 7 randomly when that is selected.
