Stock firmware only supports OpenVPN 2.3.2?

Shouldn't really post this in a Merlin forum, but since I normally use Merlin, this post is more about what is missing from stock firmware - so the Merlin awareness helps.

I'm trying out 384.32xxx

I thought it supports OpenVPN 2.4, GCM ciphers, etc...

System log shows OpenVPN 2.3.2 with errors because it's a 2.4 ovpn file.

Is that correct? The latest stock firmware doesn't even support OpenVPN 2.4?
