Yeah... it's, since install, been causing a lot of trouble for me.
Synology announces the official release of Synology Router Manager (SRM) 1.1.
Yeah... it was the IPS/IDS system being active that was acting up with the rest. While Intrusion Prevention is a welcome addition, it's just not made for a router with this kind of processor. I mean... 80% memory usage and over 60% CPU usage. That's just normal usage without any special services running in the background. Turned off, CPU is back at 13% and memory is at 24%.
Looks pretty resource intensive. Are they using a full-featured suite such as Snort, rather than a solution more optimized for embedded usage (such as Trend Micro's DPI engine)?
